VTT to SRT Converter

Paste a WebVTT subtitle file and get a clean SRT file in return. The tool removes the WEBVTT header, drops any STYLE or NOTE blocks, swaps the dot timestamps for the comma format SRT expects, and reindexes the cues from 1. Useful when you are exporting from a web player and your video editor only accepts SRT.

How to use it

  1. Paste your VTT content into the input box.
  2. SRT output appears on the right with reindexed cue numbers.
  3. Copy to clipboard or download the .srt file.
  4. Import into Premiere, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve, or upload to YouTube.

FAQ

Does this preserve cue styling?

No. SRT does not support the styling cues that VTT allows, so any STYLE blocks or inline positioning data are stripped. The text content and timing are preserved.

What if my VTT file has comments?

NOTE blocks are removed automatically, so the resulting SRT only contains the actual subtitle cues.

Are cue identifiers kept?

Cues are renumbered sequentially from 1 in the SRT output, which is the standard SRT format. The original identifiers are dropped.
